Katelyn joined the Fringe North team back in fall 2020. In her early years she helped organized several music and mixed arts events from back yard talent shows in elementary school to raise money for the local soup kitchen and hospital to touring to Elliott Lake with her band as a teenager. Katelyn also works as a Life Coach Practitioner and sees arts and culture as a vessel of healing for those who want to rebuild in life. ​Tova Arbus

Head of Marketing & Communications

An active practitioner and voice within the Northern Ontario theatre/arts communities, Tova is committed to the vibrant creativity that is developed when engaging with diverse performers, practitioners, and audiences. Completing both a BFA cum laude (Laurentian University), and post-graduate studies in Public Relations and Event Management (Sault College), Tova has successfully merged her passions for creating amazing theatre & building community-engaged arts and culture events. She continues to be heavily involved in many local/regional productions and events. Tova is committed to prioritizing justice, equity, equality, diversity and inclusion in any and all work that she does. She believes in doing the necessary work to centre diverse voices, hold space for those who are fighting for equity and equality, and stand in solidarity with folks who are marginalized, criminalized and othered. A co-founder of Fringe North, Tova has held both Artistic Director (2016-2018), and Artistic Producer (2021) positions. ​

Garrett M. Ryan​

Artist Communications

Garrett M. Ryan is a theatre maker and researcher hailing from Northeastern Ontario. As a theatre maker, his works have been produced in Canada, the United States, and Singapore. Currently, he is currently pursuing his Master's Degree in Theatre & Performance Studies at York University in Toronto, where he is researching applied theatre practices for aiding the development of youth in rural Northern Ontarian communities. As an experienced Fringer, Garrett brings his perspectives as a theatre maker to his role with Fringe North, with the goal of fostering a meaningful and stress-free space of artistic exploration for each and every participating team.  ​

Emma Dingle

Emma Dingle is an inclusive Arts education advocate from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. She is entering her fourth year at the University of Waterloo in a Bachelor of Global Business and Digital Arts. This September, Emma studied abroad at the American College of Greece for a semester of Communication and Media studies. With a passion for the Arts and an eye for design, she enjoys exploring various artistic mediums including Dance, Music, and Theatre. Emma has liaised with various Arts organizations in Northern Ontario and has extensive creative experience in Marketing and Graphic Design. Emma is eager to continue putting inclusion in the Arts at the forefront and is thrilled to be part of the Fringe North team.

Celeste Bond

Celeste Bond is a Métis artist and performer from Sault Ste. Marie. Celeste has been very involved in theatre and the performing arts, and is studying Community Music at Wilfrid Laurier University. Celeste is Fringe North's Multicultural Project Officer - Indigenous Outreach. Celeste is very happy to be a part of the Fringe North team, and is excited for festival season!

Aaniin my name is Katie and I am a part of the outreach team! I'll be at tables or around handing flyers out at events in Sault Ste Marie, I'm excited to meet new people in the community! ​

Thérèse Naccarato

Artistic Producer Assistant

When it comes to theatre, Thérèse is very passionate. In the past, she has held positions such as stage manager, co-director, lighting operator/designer, social media manager, and playwright. She is incredibly excited to be joining the Fringe North team for the second year in a row!

When she isn't backstage, you can find Thérèse reading, writing, cooking, researching true crime, or working as a medical administrator.

Gemma Naccarato

Festival Technician

Gemma is this year's Special Events Coordinator! She works on community outreach as well as audio-visual tech for the festival. As a recent graduate of UofT, she works from Toronto, ON. This is her first year with Fringe North, and as a lover of the arts she is incredibly excited!

Aside from theatre, Gemma enjoys nature, literature, writing, and travel!

Avery McMillan

Festival Technician

Avery is a local theatre artist excited to be part of the Fringe North team! They enjoy studying Drama and Gender Studies at the University of Toronto Mississauga, stage managing and writing theatre, knitting, and drinking tea. Avery brings the perspective of having presented work at Fringe North, first through the 2021 Emerging Artists in Residency Program, and is looking forward to supporting artists and audiences at this year’s festival. 

Spencer Rice

Project Officer Multiculturalism

Spencer specializes in starting grassroots organizations, writing successful grants, fulfilling art commissions, and leading project development with children, youth, and adults in community arts, child welfare, education, public policy and Indigenous cultural work in Ontario and Canada. Their work is firmly rooted in Indigenous worldview using principles of harm reduction, poverty interventions, community-based research, and historical narratives to inform every step of the process.
