About the Work
I want to host a pasta making workshop and dinner that is free and open to the public. Different types of pastas, including ravioli and fillings will be made, cooked, and shared.
About The Artist
Katie Huckson is an interdisciplinary artist based in Bawating/Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. She has a BFA from Algoma University and an MFA from the University of Windsor. She has exhibited across Canada and abroad and has participated in residencies in Colorado, Italy, and Vietnam. In 2019, she performed an artwork for Occupy The Kitchen Vol.2 in Varese, Italy, supported by the Ontario Arts Council. In the second year of her PhD she completed an NSERC fellowship on research mobility in aging. She currently holds a SSHRC doctoral scholarship for her PhD work on participatory art that incorporates food and eating. She is interested in art as a way to make space for social connection and care. Huckson is an instructor in Visual art and Art History at Algoma University, and is working towards her PhD in Communication, New Media, and Cultural Studies at McMaster University.
