Brenden Riddle (aka W A Thompson)
Me, Myself and an I for an Eye (30-45 min, For adults 18+)
“It is a bibliography of my growing up in an abusive family - my Dad. I will take the audience from my youth reading a comic book at night with the flashlight under the covers when I should be saying my prayers and going to sleep where my Dad hits me and destroys my comic book - the abuse begins then - using photographs of my face as I move through my younger years - the belt and back hands, to my teens - more hitting and verbal abuse to my early 20s where I ignored my father, to a failed marriage due to my alcohol dependence and verbal abuse of my wife to my recovery in AA and making amends to my Dad at Hotel Dieu Hospital - and to my wife and children to my present self - a journey of life” |

Biography
I am the only performer - I have been involved in community theatre since the mid-90s, I am currently enrolled at Algoma U working on my BA in English with a minor in music (percussion and vocals). I'm the proud Dad of two beautiful adult daughters and two amazing granddaughters. I enjoy all aspects of theatre. I write on a daily basis - even if its only for a minute or two - sometimes morphing into several hours. Today I can say that I love my Dad - I will not forget what happened to me - I forgive him and will not allow those memories to turn into resentments which only punish me. I look forward to being a part of the Fringe North Festival once more.
